The Unraveling Final Phase

The Unraveling Final Phase
Fihazia enters the Great Library. There standing, patiently awaiting her is Thoth. They bow and greet each other.

Fihazia says 'Thank you for receiving me, master Thoth. I have many questions, and I know that you may have the answers.’

Thoth replies ‘I may have the answers that you seek, but first I must know. Are you here of your own accord, Fihazia, or that of the new Lord of the Great Houses?’

Fihazia says ‘I come here of my own accord, master Thoth, to try to find an understanding of what happened during the Unraveling. The power of the devices that pushed Atherak back into the borderlands. And I fear of something worse to come.’

Thoth says ‘The dreams must haunt you. I watched over the Unraveling as the devices gained their power to challenge the Lord of the Layer of the Damned.’

An image begins to form. Thoth says ‘They do not yet know the full extent of what they have done.’ He shows a vision.

The devices have gathered in Alfheim. They are prepared as they watch King Yserah gather his armies.

King Yserah turns to Zeus and says ‘I pray that our power will be with you. Go for your son. Free Volheim of this menace.’

Yserah leans down from his steed, placing his hand upon Zeus’ shoulder. He says ‘I know he’s alive, Zeus. I know he’s there.’

Zeus places his hand upon the arm of King Yserah and says ‘And may strength and the power of the devices be with you. Reclaim your kingdom. I will go to reclaim my son.’

The other devices gather around. Eroisin remains silent.

Ashoweah speaks ‘I see not all the Valar have gathered. Where is Valkar?’

Elven King Yserah sits up upon his steed and says ‘Valkar has traveled to find Midorra. He is looking for his brother, Tulkas. We believe Tulkas to be one of the devices. Eroisin has confirmed it. If anyone knows where he might be, then it is Midorra. I go now. I go to reclaim my kingdom and the realm of Alfheim.’

Ashoweah says ‘And may the power of the devices go with you.’

Zeus takes a small contingent force and steps through a portal leading to Volheim. The devices head back to a sanctuary where they will gather and make their next plan after Yserah has recaptured Alfheim.

King Yserah and his army along with the Valar except for Valkar set out for the dead tree of Alfheim. Little do they know following them close behind, observing all of their moves, is Lyindrinar and his party.

Lyindrinar watches as the army proceeds down the road towards the former capital. He looks and glances at Yserah.

Lyindrinar says ‘Whatever he has planned, I feel that it will fail.’ Lyindrinar turns to his other party members and says 'Stay here. I want to see what he’s up to.’

Lyindrinar darts off through the treetops. The elf-gnome Frigit, the little imp Mithsgui, and the void elf Layahzarus begin to speak to one another. Frigit grabs his bag.

Layahzarus stops Frigit and says ‘You’re not going with him. He told us to stay here.’

Frigit says ‘I feel something is going to happen. Something I must see. You stay here with Douraka. Mithsgui and I will go.’

Frigit and Mithsgui then dart off in the direction following Lyindrinar.

As King Yserah’s army approaches the dead tree, they can hear the chanting of all the gnomes. They are placing offerings again before the tree, chanting in their old Gnomish language.

Yserah’s army closes around the dead tree. The gnomes begin to turn, taking notice to Yserah’s forces. His elven warriors draw their bows.

Yserah raises his hand and says ‘We are not here to harm them. We must try to clear them away before I can use the power to burn this tree.’

One of his elven captains says to Yserah ‘We should try using the nets on them to gather them all up.’

Yserah nods to the captain, and the captain gives the order. Several of the elven soldiers bring out nets.

The gnomes begin pelting them with fruits and offerings that they have laid before the tree.

Just then the gnomes begin to pick up rocks that are surrounding the tree, and pieces of the old crumbled down capital.

They begin pelting the soldiers with them. One shaky elven soldier has his bow drawn.

The captain says to King Yserah 'This will be proven to be a more difficult task.’

Yserah replies ‘We must remove the gnomes away from the trees as fast as we can.’

Just then the shaky elven warrior with his bow drawn is pelted in the forehead with a rock from one of the gnomes. His arrow lets loose, piercing through the gnome.

Other arrows begin loosing from the elven warriors as if a command was given. They begin piercing into the gnomes.

Lyindrinar watches horrified. He jumps down in between the gnomes and the arrows flying at them. He draws his two blades, chopping arrows before they hit him and other gnomes.

Elven King Yserah notices Lyindrinar and cries quickly ‘Kill him! He is a minion of Atherak. He has come to stop us.’

More arrows let loose and several gnomes are pierced. Lyindrinar is hit in his upper thigh. Rage and anger build in him. He draws his two blades and attacks the elven warriors, cutting several of them down.

Just then a part of the tree begins to crack, and an opening appears. Fiayuah and Amerriah emerge from the crack within the tree.

Fiayuah says to Amerriah ‘It is the former King Lyindrinar coming to stand for the little gnomes and those who are slaughtering them. Such sacrifice he makes.’

Amerriah replies to Fiayuah ‘Let me even the odds for him.’

Amerriah draws her bow and pulls a black twisted looking arrow from it. As she fires the arrow, it separates into coils piercing into elven warriors.

King Yserah takes notice to this. He reaches inside his robe, bringing out the Muspelheim fire. Then placing one hand upon his chest while holding the fire within the other hand, he begins to speak ‘Power of the device inside me. Come forth now. Empower this fire. Burn this tree and the minions who serve Atherak.’

The fire begins to glow brightly and then turns black. Yserah activates the power of the device within him. Placing his other hand forward with the empowered Muspelheim fire, it spreads out as a firestorm engulfing the tree.

King Yserah comes down from his steed. Using all the energy within and all his power, he focuses the fire to begin to burn the tree. When he is done, he lowers his hands. The tree sets ablaze. He says ‘It is done.’

Just then he notices the fire begins to dissipate as if it was being sucked downward. As it dissipates from the tree, the tree still remains. Fire is sucked downward into a swirl.

King Yserah watches it as the fire recedes to where the opening was. There standing next to Fiayuah and Amerriah, is Dolloiandea. The fire is swirling into her hand.

Frigit and Mithsgui are watching. Mithsgui tries to grab Frigit’s shoulders as he sees several of the gnomes fleeing into the woods, many of them wounded.

Frigit says ‘I have to help them!’ Frigit jumps down, trying to aid and help carry gnomes into the woods.

Mithsgui yells out ‘Hurry, hurry! Fire lady is gonna burn everything.’ Mithsgui begins to help Frigit gather the other gnomes.

Frigit replies ‘There’s too many of them.’

Mithsgui says to him ‘We have to hurry, or all will be burned away. All gnomes will be burned.’

Just then they hear the beating of wings above them. It is Layahzarus and the chaos drakon Douraka. Douraka flies down.

Douraka says ‘Quickly, have them climb upon my back. As many as we can!’

Many of the gnomes begin climbing upon Douraka’s back. He flies them a short distance from the tree and then goes back to gather more.

Elven King Yserah and his armies stand before the myrrdonites Dolloianda, Fiayuah, and Amerriah.

Lyindrinar is still battling several of the other elven warriors that surround him.

Dolloiandea laughs and says ‘This is the power of the great devices? Playing with fire. How foolish you are, Yserah. I am the fire.’

The black fire then expands from Dolloiandea’s hands as it surrounds and engulfs her. It burns outward incinerating many of the elven warriors.

Yserah begins to pull back. Dolloiandea speaks down to Amerriah ‘Sister, an arrow if you please.’

Amerriah draws another black crooked arrow. She fires it high into the sky above the elven army and Yserah. Fire comes from Dolloiandea’s eyes, engulfing the arrow as it explodes and rains down black fire.

All around the elves are beginning to burn, engulfed by the black fire that is raining down above.

The last of the gnomes are safely away. Frigit turns to see Lyindrinar still surrounded by elven warriors, and black fire raining down upon him.

Frigit says ‘I have to help him!’ Frigit begins running towards Lyindrinar.

King Yserah makes a quick withdraw, leaving his soldiers to be burned. As he tries to escape, he comes face to face with Lyindrinar.

Lyindrinar says ‘You brought this upon us. What were you thinking? You challenged Atherak and his myrrdonites, and now you have completely destroyed Alfheim. You are no king. You are nothing but a butcher.’

Lyindrinar points his sword at King Yserah.

King Yserah leans back, drawing his own sword and says ‘I should have finished you a long time ago, Lyindrinar. I may have lost here today, but I shall be rid of you.’

The two dash towards each other, clashing. They fight back and forth as the fire rains down upon them.

Lyindrinar makes swift moves, but as he cuts Yserah, Yserah calls upon the power of the device to heal him.

Lyindrinar makes a sudden move and Yserah catches him, piercing his sword in through his shoulder. Lyindrinar shrieks in pain.

King Yserah says to him ‘Now know who is the true King of Alfheim.’

Yserah pulls his sword from Lyindrinar’s shoulder, dropping Lyindrinar to the ground. He raises it high above his head.

King Yserah says ‘You were never a king. You were never even an elf.’ Yserah then strikes down, but as he does, something tackles him throwing him to the ground.

Lyindrinar looks over to see Valeyta in her spirit wolf form attacking Yserah. Yserah and Valeyta fight back and forth, rolling upon the ground where the black fire is burning.

Lyindrinar tries to regain himself, but he is weakened. He watches as Yserah grabs his sword.

Then Yserah places his hand upon his chest and says ‘Power of the device, come to me once again.’

Valeyta goes racing forward, ready to tear Yserah down. The power of the device flows through Yserah. He makes a swift move, and then pierces his sword into the side of Valeyta. She falls to the ground.

Lyindrinar screams aloud ‘NOOOOOOOO!!’

He begins to crawl to Valeyta as Yserah starts to withdraw.

King Yserah says ‘This is better than killing you. Now you will know my suffering.’

A female voice says ‘You know nothing of suffering yet, Yserah.’

Yserah turns his head to see Dolloiandea coming through the fire. He opens a portal and makes a hasty getaway.

Lyindrinar reaches Valeyta. He holds her spirit wolf form in his arms. She looks up at him and whimpers as the life goes out of her.

Frigit joins Lyindrinar’s side, pulling on his armor. He says ‘We have to go. It’s gonna burn. We have to go!’

Lyindrinar regains his strength, lifting Valeyta up in his arms and following Frigit into the forest.

Fiayuah speaks out to Dolloiandea ‘That will be enough, sister.’

Dolloiandea raises her hand and the fire burning around recedes and dissipates.

King Yserah returns to the sanctuary. He says ‘I have failed. The power of the myrrdonites is beyond what I expected.’

Ashoweah says ‘It is Atherak who empowers them.’

Vustik says ‘So there will be no chance of defeating them as long as Atherak empowers them through the borderlands.’

Eroisin raises his head and says ‘You look towards defeating him, but yet you do not see how to accomplish that. It would take the combined power of the devices within yourselves to even challenge him.’

Ashoweah says ‘But how? How do we challenge him?’

A voice rings out ‘I hold the answer to your problems.’ Epimetheus then steps forward. Alongside him is Orion.

Orion says 'They blinded me. Destroyed my house and my realm. Took everything from our existence. Our realms are now threatened.’

Eroisin steps forward placing both his hands upon Orion’s eyes. A light then shines around it. Eroisin steps back, and Orion removes the cloth that is around his eyes.

Orion says ‘I can see again.’

Eroisin says ‘Yes. Now you can notice your enemies that will be around you.’

Epimetheus speaks ‘My lord and master Atherak plans to bring the athranaaks to the realms. There he will use them to destroy all sential beings upon the realms, turning all the realms in the existence into what used to be inside the Atheron where no sential beings will exist.’

Vustik replies ‘Then that explains why the naturals went wild.’

Epimetheus says 'You cannot face the myrrdonites. Even if you were to defeat the myrrdonites with the combined power of the devices within you, he would just remake them.

You must draw him out to a place where he is familiar. A place where he will go and face you. Neutral ground.’

Ashoweah laughs and says ‘And where is this neutral ground?’

Epimetheus says ’The Island of Asherah in the Eternal Sea. Or have you all not been paying attention? I have read the stories through my vessel. I know that there was connection there between Atherak, Asherah Aphrodite, and the others.

It was his image painted upon the walls. That is where you can draw him to. Using the power of the devices within yourselves, you may succeed in pushing him back into the borderlands.’

King Yserah says ‘But how do we find this island? You are not the only one who has been paying attention. I have too, and this island is almost impossible to find. In the Veil Mist we could wander around forever. It would take more time-‘

Just then Yserah is interrupted by a voice ‘The Veil Mist is no more.’

In walks two figures. Nyrix with the Veil Keeper’s arms placed around Nyrix’s shoulders.

The Veil Keeper says ‘It’s gone. The Veil Mist is gone.’

Eroisin’s eyes then widen. He says ‘Then that means…’

The Veil Keeper says ‘Yes. The borderlands will devour all the realms, turning them into an exact copy of the borderlands. They will absorb it, changing it into the Layer of the Damned. I watched. The naturals and everything will cease to exist here.

They will be sent to the Vanatorin where Atherak has restored it. Epimetheus is right. The only way to stop this is to push him back into the borderlands. And if not, then we must find a way to destroy him.’

Eroisin says ‘To destroy him… there are things you do not understand about Atherak, but you will soon realize. If we go to face him in the Eternal Sea on the Island of Asherah, then we must all go together.’

Epimetheus says ‘There may be a way I can buy you time. Master Atherak will begin initiating. Now that the Veil Mist is gone, the athranaaks will appear upon the realms. If I can try to stop one of them from completing its phase then it may buy you enough time.

Plus I have a vendetta of my own against a certain myrrdonite. That little bastard, Moonstone. Ever since he returned whispering in my master’s ear, telling him how weak I am. That I was not made or fit to endure the suffering that was required of being a myrrdonite.

That little bastard poisoned my master against me and sent me back to this world of the living! Yes, I will not lie to any of you or fool you. I wish to be back at the place where I was. And Moonstone cost me that.

The King of Jotunheim Lemniskarun is still encamped close to where the fortress of Jotunheim is. I will go there. I will convince the king to re-siege his kingdom. I will kill Moonstone.’

Orion says ‘And I shall go with you. I want to be part of something. I am not a device, but I am the Lord of the Great Houses. And it is time that I fight for our existence and our realms.’

Ashoweah speaks ‘Then all is agreed. We will make our way as the devices to the Eternal Sea where the Island of Asherah is. And if Epimetheus is right, we will draw Atherak there and we will destroy him.’

Valkar has made his way to the realm of the Kitsune to speak to Midorra to find where his brother may be. There he sees the Kitsune gathered. They have changed. They appear to be more fox-like. There Midorra sits before them.

They are singing in unison when they notice the arrival of Valkar.

Valkar says ‘Midorra. I come seeking knowledge of your father’s whereabouts. Please.’

Midorra says ‘Go away, sential. You should not be here. This is no place for you.’

Valkar says ‘Midorra, please. What is going on? Tell me. I need to find your father. I need to find him.’

Midorra says ‘He is already where he needs to be, and you are in the wrong place. Now leave.’

Valkar says ‘I will not. What is happening to you, Midorra? What is happening to all your kind, and others like you? Please! Tell me, I want to help you.’

Midorra shrieks angrily at him ‘You sentials know nothing of us naturals. You wish to help us, but yet you destroy us. I have warned you once to leave, and then again. Now you will feel what it is like, sential, to fear.’

Midorra attacks forward and scratches the face of Valkar. The Kitsune begin to turn on Valkar. He begins moving back. He draws his spear and a sword in another hand.

Valkar says ‘I do not want to hurt you. Please!’

Just then a portal opens behind Valkar, pulling him through. Out steps Tulkas as his device self Xokahkar.

Xokahkar says ‘I’m sorry, my daughter.’

Midorra looks into Xokahkar's eyes and says ‘This is our last goodbye, but before I leave, know that the war between Atherak and the sentials is coming to an end. But the war between the naturals and the sentials will soon begin.’

Just then Midorra and her Kitsune kind glow brightly. Xokahkar covers his eyes with his arms and tries to watch. When the light dissipates, Midorra and the Kitsune are gone.

Xokahkar steps through the portal. On the other side, Valkar is dressing his wounds.

Xokahkar says ‘Go, my brother. Return to Valinor. Take my place there.’

Valkar replies ‘Where will you go, brother?’

Xokahkar says ‘I will go to where Atherak is, and I will put an end to this.

In the clearing of the trees in Alfheim, Frigit stands beside Lyindrinar as he kneels holding Valeyta in his arms.

Lyindrinar says ‘It should have always just been me and you. I should have listened to you. I should have left the kingdom. We should have ran away together, just you and I. Now I’m all alone without you. My existence means nothing.’

Mithsgui walks up to where Frigit and Lyindrinar are. A fiery tear drops from his eyes.

Mithsgui says ‘How sad. All is gone. Mithsgui’s home gone. King Lyindrinar’s queen gone. All is despair.’

A female voice is heard ‘Not all is despair, little fire one.’ Dolloiandea stands at the side of Mithsgui.

In her hand, she holds a black flame and says ‘Here. Go home, and when is all said and done little Mithsgui, you will be a king. Take this fire. When the time comes, Muspelheim will burn again.

As for you, King Lyindrinar. You should take her. Take her to the borderlands. There you will discover something. And as for you, little Frigit, you should go with him. A whole new world awaits you.’

Dolloiandea opens a rift. Lyindrinar lifts Valeyta into his arms. As they approach the rift, Lyindrinar stops and looks at Dolloiandea and says ‘I know this is beyond my understanding, everything that is happening. This unraveling of everything we knew. But where do I go from here? I know I walk alone now.’

Dolloiandea smiles at Lyindrinar and says ‘You have a whole new path set before you. Once a Great King who will become an outlaw.’ Lyindrinar steps through the rift with Frigit as it closes.

In Volheim, Tenomachi and Vilanea stand before all the volwynn gathered. Tenomachi then speaks. Shaddaka stands beside him and Jaiddaka watches close behind. Thor and Ares are still within a cage as they hear Tenomachi speak.

Tenomachi says ‘Let these words be heard for the last time. The words of the sential. These will be their final words spoken upon Volheim. Never again will they be heard from the mouth of the volwynn. We return now to our natural ways. Destroy everything that is a representation of sential.’

The Volwynns’ eyes begin to glow black. Tenomachi and all of them turn upon the fortress of Volheim and begin to rip it apart. All across Volheim, the volwynn begin to destroy their sential built dwellings.

Zeus and a small contingent of forces including some of the Olympians and Norse Gods of the pantheons have gathered. They watch as the volwynn scatter, beginning to destroy their own dwellings that they have built.

Zeus notices Ares and Thor within the cage. He says ‘Now’s our chance.’

One of the Norse Gods says ‘And if the volwynn attack?’

Zeus says ‘Then we must defend ourselves at whatever cost.’ Lightning begins to flow through his eyes and a bolt forms in his hands.

Zeus says ‘I will handle the myrrdonite. Go!’

The forces begin moving down. The volwynn take notice as the forces of Zeus and the pantheons pour out of a nearby forest. Jaiddaka turns her head. She roars aloud. The attention of the volwynn turn back from destroying their dwellings, onto the forces of the pantheons. A battle begins to ensue.

There are too many volwynn for them to handle. Zeus goes striking forward. A lightning bolt flying from his hand pierces into the chest of Jaiddaka. Lightning surrounds her and she falls to the ground.

Zeus mutters to himself ‘And the hunt has ended.’

He approaches Jaiddaka. Her eyes open. She then leaps forward slashing into Zeus deeply across his chest and ripping into his armor. Zeus recoils, casting another lightning bolt in his hand, striking it towards Jaiddaka.

Jaiddaka’s coils come from her mouth, wrapping around the bolt and shattering it. Then Jaiddaka rushes forward knocking Zeus to the ground. Zeus looks up as he sees the massive decaying paw of Jaiddaka striking down on him and then all goes black.

In a gathering in a forest of Alfheim, the gnomes begin to break from the trance that they were under. Many of them are crying over the bodies of their loved ones that were struck down.

They are then joined by Elararis Lunastar, Draena Silverleaf, and a few other elves that were loyal to King Lyindrinar.

Elararis falls to the ground to his knees as he cradles a gnome’s head. He says ‘How could this have happened? Such an innocent gentle soul. Such a pure and natural race. We brought this upon ourselves.’ He begins to weep.

Draena tends to many of the other wounded gnomes. Layahzarus and Douraka watch as the gnomes tend to their wounded and their dead.

Layahzarus says ‘I think I should return to the Void. You can come with me, my friend. I know King Varidon would welcome you. There’s nothing else here for you now, and all the other realms are falling into the same despair.’

Douraka says ‘The Void? You can guarantee I will be safe there? If this is spread upon the realms then there will be no place that is safe.’

Layahzarus says ‘That may be so, but I must see for myself. And you are welcome to come with me.’

Douraka thinks for a moment and then says ‘I will go with you.’

Layahzarus opens a portal leading to the Void. Him and Douraka step through. Another portal opens, and Fihazia steps through. She greets Elararis. He embraces her tightly. She can feel that he is hurting deep inside. She looks around and observes the scene.

Fihazia says ‘Tragic, beyond tragic. The loss of souls, much of what was innocent and pure. I feel Alfheim will never be the same.’

Elararis gathers himself and says ‘What news do you bring, my love?’

Fihazia says ‘I was there in the sanctuary and at the gathering. Epimetheus has given the devices a way to defeat and push Atherak back into the borderlands. They plan to draw him out in the Eternal Sea on the mythical Island of Asherah.’

Elararis Lunastar says ‘This can mean only one of two things. That they will defeat Atherak, pushing him back into the borderlands, or he will complete his judgement upon our existence.’

Fihazia says ‘And if he does then all will fall, and become absorbed by the borderlands. I feel that it will spread beyond this existence. There is no more Veil Mist, my love.’

Elararis says ‘Then that means what you spoke of to me long ago of a prophecy will take fold.’

Fihazia says ‘Yes. The borderlands will spread beyond this existence to others, absorbing all. It is the Veil Mist that contains it.’

Elararis says ‘Then everything is lost.’

In Jotunheim, Epimetheus and Orion along with what is left of the armies of the great houses, with several of the titans and gods of the pantheons joining them, now meet up in the camp of King Lemniskarun.

Angerboda and Skadi are speaking with the king. Epimetheus, Orion, and the others approach him.

Lemniskarun stands and says ‘And what news do you bring?’

Epimetheus speaks ‘We bring news of the ending of us all, and a chance to stop it before that ending consumes our existence. I myself have come to settle a score with Moonstone.’

Lemniskarun lowers his head and says ‘Never have the Houses been a friend to Jotunheim. But we gather here now. I will not see my realm destroyed. The dwarves have gone. It is Moonstone who sits alone.’

Orion steps forward placing his hand upon Lemniskarun and says ‘Then reclaim your kingdom, and together we will reunite the realms and defeat this foe. We will overcome, and be united finally.’

Lemniskarun raises his head, looking at Orion and Epimetheus. He says ‘Then let’s reclaim my throne.’

Angrboda and Skadi agree, and the army begins marching towards the Jotunheim fortress.

Moonstone looks down from a high tower above. He says ‘Ah yes. Here they come now. The seekers will keep them busy until the final phase is complete. I will await the master’s instructions.’

He then turns facing Bloodblade, Fiylin Xansheel, and Blacklace.

Moonstone says ‘The king will make his way here seeking to stop me. He will have his throne back, but first, the Unraveling must be completed. Keep him busy until the time for him to sit upon his throne comes again. I will await the master’s final instructions.’

Moonstone turns, raising his hands. Tens of thousands of seekers begin to appear all around the fortress of Jotunheim.

Moonstone says ‘Go, my pets. Go forth and seek the wicked. Let them come, and when they do, tear them apart.’

Blacklace looks at Bloodblade and Fiylin Xansheel. She says ‘You heard him. We need to keep the old king busy.’

The three leave the chamber as the forces of the Great Houses and Lemniskarun descend upon the fortress of Jotunheim.

As they approach, Orion looks up at the walls and says ‘They seem to be undefended. Where are the dwarves?’

Lemniskarun replies ‘All the dwarves have left with Greywillow, Fogbeard, and Flamebeard. It is only the jotunn and trolls that stand against Moonstone now.’

Orion says ‘Not only them. I am here with you. I will fight to whatever end.’

Just then, appearing upon the walls are black silhouettes. One of the jotunn takes out a spyglass and looks closer. He becomes frightful and says ‘It’s the seekers.’

Orion notices the jotunn and trolls beginning to speak of the seekers. Orion asks ‘What are the seekers?’

Lemniskarun replies as they march forward ‘They were the creatures unleashed by Atherak upon all the realms. They are vicious, and there are thousands of them.’

More and more seekers begin to appear on the walls, and scale down. Lemniskarun raises his sword and yells ‘For Jotunheim!’

The armies go rushing forward, and there is a clash right beneath walls between the seekers and the forces of Jotunheim and the Houses.

Every time the seekers are cut down, more and more spawn from the corpses of the dead ones. The armies are beginning to lose.

Lemniskarun yells to Skadi ‘Get me up to the tower! We have to stop Moonstone.’

Epimetheus and Orion then join him and say ‘We will go with you. The three of us may be able to bring him down. Facing him alone will mean utter destruction.’

Lemniskarun nods in agreement. Skadi casts a wild wind, and an ice blizzard tornado lifts the three up, crashing through the seekers. As the seekers jump towards it, the tornado repels them and throws them back.

It crashes through the front gates of the wall. Lemniskarun, Orion, and Epimetheus are placed upon a ledge where the fortress sits. The seekers begin to surround them. They fight the seekers back, and then make their way in.

Just then a door closes upon them, and Epimetheus and Orion are separated from Lemniskarun. A voice is heard in the chamber where Lemniskarun is ‘Don’t mind us, Great King. We’re just entertainment for a moment.’

Lemniskarun looks down to see Blacklace, Bloodblade, and Fiylin Xansheel. He says ‘Ah it’s good to see you. Tell me, where is Moonstone?’

Blacklace says ‘Ah, he’s up in your throne room. But you can’t go to see him right now. Not until he said it was time for you to reclaim your throne. Until then, you have us to deal with.’

Lemniskarun says ‘Step aside, Blacklace. You would not dare strike your king.’

Blacklace and the others then laugh. She says ‘King? When have you ever known us to serve a king? I serve no king.’

Just then Blacklace’s fist begins to glow brightly. She pounds it toward the ground, sending a shockwave and knocking Lemniskarun back. Fiylin Xansheel pulls his dwarven rifle and begins shooting at Lemniskarun.

Blacklace says ‘Don’t kill him. Just dance with him for a while.’

Bloodblade begins to attack Lemniskarun. Lemniskarun blocks his blows and begins to fight back against the three.

Lemniskarun with an evasive move, wraps his arm around the neck of Bloodblade, choking him until he goes unconscious. Fiylin is trying to get a shot in, but he cannot land it yet.

Fiylin says ‘Let him go, or I’ll shoot you right between the eyes.’

Lemniskarun smiles and says ‘I’m not gonna hurt your friend. You can have him!’ He then tosses Bloodblade into Fiylin, knocking them back. Fiylin is knocked unconscious as well.

Blackblace angrily looks at him and says ‘Well come here ya big asshole. Now it’s just me and you.’ She powers her fist and strikes forward towards Lemniskarun, knocking him back.

Blacklace says ‘The bigger they are, the harder they fall, dumbass!’ Lemniskarun is laying on his back as Blacklace rushes towards him.

Lemniskarun says ‘And the smaller they are… the easier they are to stomp.’ Lemniskarun then kicks his foot forward, striking Blacklace and knocking her back against the wall which makes her go unconscious as well.

Lemniskarun walks up to the three and says ‘I honor all of you. You certainly do not bow to any king.’ He makes his way out the other door, and heads toward the throne room.

In the Void realm, the chaos drakon Douraka and the void elf Layahzarus are flying high over the Void capital. There are impaled Void beings everywhere. Down below they can see King Varidon standing with another figure facing him.

They make their way down below. When the other figure comes into view, Layahzarus recognizes it.

Layahzarus says ‘That’s Hue!’

The two land as they observe Hue standing in front of Varidon. Varidon then spreads out his arms and tilts his head to the sky.

Hue begins to speak ‘What was of darkness separated from light, the misunderstanding between the two upon this existence shall be no more. Let there be light within the Void. Let there be darkness where there is light.’

With that, Hue raises her hand. Half of Varidon’s body begins to burn. Then as the fire resides, half of Varidon is of light.

Hue says ‘The Voidlight is what you are now. I will come calling on you soon after the unraveling has been completed.’

Varidon turns to notice Layahzarus and Douraka. A strange light begins to peer over half the Void, dividing the realm. One part darkness, one part light.

Varidon approaches Douraka and Layahzarus. He says ‘You will be my council of the Void. A representation of that. And you and your mighty drakon should serve me. This is your home now.’ He looks up towards Douraka ‘You are always welcome here.’

The devices have made it to Asherah’s island. There they look at the ruins of her palace.

The Veil Keeper says ‘How do we know they will come? I do not trust Epimetheus. I know what he desires.’

Then a voice is heard from behind him ‘He will come here. That I know.’

The devices turn to see Tulkas Xokahkar as he makes his way up the beach.

Xokahkar says ‘We were enemies before and we may be enemies again, but we must complete what we have come here to do. To stop the spread of the borderlands engulfing all the layers, we must push Atherak far back into it. We are devices of the Omega, and we stand upon the island of one of her projections, unified once again.’

Vustik speaks ‘And if we can’t push Atherak back into the borderlands?’

Xokahkar replies ‘Then we must try to destroy him.’

The devices gather within the circle except for Eroisin. Xokahkar begins to speak a strange language, activating the power fully within the devices. Each of their forms glow brightly, raise a bit into air, and then descend down.

Xokahkar says ‘We are ready.’

As he finishes speaking, a female voice in unison speaks from behind them ‘What a wonderful display of power.’ The devices turn to see the Twin Stars, the Bishberrin, and Mevinah.

Mevinah says ‘They have come, as the master knew they would.’

The Twin Stars say ‘Then we shall destroy them here in the presence of our master.’

The Twin Stars float. The Bishberrin begins to shriek loudly. Mevinah draws his cutting blades.

Then a male voice is heard as the devices and the myrrdonites make ready to do battle ‘Enough. They have come here seeking me.’

A rift opens from behind the myrrdonites, and Atherak and Xarsha step through. The myrrdonites begin to draw back towards Atherak.

Atherak says ‘Ah. I see you have all gathered, coming here to end what I am trying to complete.’

Atherak turns to Xarsha and says ‘Go now. Initiate the final phase.’

Xarsha holds open his hand, and what appears in it is a small athranaak. As he does, athranaaks begin to appear all over the realms.

The myrrdonites step back through the rift and Atherak stands against the devices alone.

Xokahkar steps forward and says ‘Why, Atherak? Why have you done this? Why have you attacked us? Some of us here were your enemies, but some of us here were your friends.’

Atherak says ‘I am the Lord of Judgement. I have no friends. And I see you listen to Epimetheus, the one you all considered a fool in the world of the living until he became my myrrdonite. And when he returned to the world of the living, you were all foolish enough to let him lead you here.’

A dark shadow begins to arise behind Atherak. It begins to take shape of a form, a large Hungali.

Atherak turns to Decimation and says ‘Now the Veil Mist is forever yours. None shall ever pass through again.’

Decimation opens his large massive jaws and begins to blow out a black mist. With it, Decimation dissipates into the mist. A black mist begins to surround all the existences and the layers once again.

The Veil Keeper turns and says ‘My mist!’ He begins running out across the water towards the mist. As he touches it and reaches his hand in, his hand burns.

He withdraws his hand quickly and says ‘What have you done?’

Atherak says ‘Any of those who enter the mist now… any sential being who tries to cross into other layers will be decimated.’

The Veil Keeper makes his way back towards the others as they join and face Atherak.

Atherak says ‘You come here. You devices believe the power of that will defeat me.’

Atherak holds up in his hand a device and says ‘Just like Raugunitar, your end has come.’ Atherak closes his hand, crushing Raugunitar’s device.

King Yserah screams aloud at the loss of his love ‘No!’

Atherak says ‘You were wrong. It wasn’t I who attacked you, but you devices who attacked me first. You think me a simple being created inside the Atheron, but I have walked the layers and beyond long before you.’

As Atherak begins to walk forward, his shape changes into that of the first Gallatar Commander. He says ‘And when I was foolish enough to believe in the sentials, to believe in the devices, and I watched as you destroyed the layers of the naturals, and then consumed upon your own kind. Your own…’

The Gallatar Commander forms back into the first version of Atherak and says ‘I brought judgement upon you, and still then after I was gone, you continued your ways. You sential beings continue the ways of your sential design. But I watched. I learned.’

Atherak begins to change form again into that of EinossArku. He says ‘You think me the simple Aspect of Judgement, but I am beyond that.’

Baphomet’s eyes grow large as he sees and understands now. In his head, he remembers the black liquid and the creation of the Ourhkina. The pouring of the black liquid by Xarsha.

Baphomet says ‘EinossArku… All this time.’

The shape begins to change back into the modern version of Atherak. He says ‘You see, it was long ago. You attacked me first. Now I am here for my vengeance upon you.’

Coils begin to strike forward from Atherak, attacking and striking the devices. Atherak says ‘Let us dance.’

The devices battle back and forth with Atherak. Drawing upon the power of the devices, every strike they make upon Atherak knocks him back only for a moment. Coils from Atherak begin to wrap around the devices, immobilizing them.

Atherak says ‘You sought the Alpha shards. Shards that you cannot understand! You try to steal pieces of me long ago that you shattered. I have regained them, and now I will use them to destroy your existences and return them to the naturals. Xarsha, initiate the final phase.’

Atherak opens his hand and Alpha shards rise from it, spinning and then disappearing. In the borderlands, Xarsha takes the object within his hands.

Xarsha says ‘The time has come.’ The object begins spinning faster and faster. Athranaaks appear over all the realms and layers.

Lemniskarun makes his way towards the throne room as an athranaak appears above Jotunheim.

He sees Moonstone’s hands and head raised to the air, as the top of the fortress in the throne room is ripped off and sucked up into a whirlwind that surrounds the athranaak.

Moonstone says ‘I see you have come, king, to reclaim your throne. Then please, sit. Your destiny is here. Become Jotunheim.’

Lemniskarun drops his battle-axe as if something within Moonstone’s words has struck him deep down to his core. Lemniskarun sits upon his throne.

Moonstone says ‘You are the mountain of Jotunheim. You are everything that it is, and always will be.’ Moonstone glances at Lemniskarun.

Lemniskarun replies ‘I am the mountain. I am Jotunheim.’ With that, as he sits in his throne, Lemniskarun turns to stone.

Orion and Epimetheus make their way to the throne room. Orion draws his elegant sword.

Orion shouts ‘Stop! Face us now, minion.’

Epimetheus steps forward and says ‘Where are you going to run to now, little man? You can’t go whisper in the master’s ear.’

Moonstone says ‘Ah Epimetheus. Are you still sore at me? Believing that it was I who spoke against you to the master? Well it was. Does that bother you? You will have all you ever wanted, the master returning you to the realm of the living. You have served him well, Epimetheus.’

Orion looks over to Epimetheus and says ‘You mean…’

Epimetheus grins and says ‘Yes. I still serve the master, and it has led me here. I will be rewarded.’

Epimetheus strikes his hand forward into the chest of Orion, ripping out his core. Epimetheus says ‘I will be the Lord of the Great Houses from now on.’

Orion’s body falls to the ground. The core then goes from Epimetheus’ hands to Moonstone where it is sucked up into the athranaak hanging up above.

Epimetheus replies ‘The devices are in the master’s hands now, delivered as promised.’

Moonstone says ‘Very good, Epimetheus. You have done well. Now in the hereafter of the unraveling, you will be the Lord of the Great Houses.’

Epimetheus bows as Moonstone turns his attention back towards the athranaak hanging high above.

In the Gallatar, Govendar and the Madaerka stare up at what appears to be a bright pink athranaak. They take it as the rejoining of the Great Collective.

Govendar says ‘She has returned to us. She has returned.’

In Volheim, Zeus awakens inside a cage with Ares and Thor. In other cages all around them pinned down by volwynn, are the divine of the Norse and Olympian pantheons. There high above Volheim appears an athranaak.

Jaiddaka walks forward to the cage holding Zeus, Thor, and Ares. She roars loudly as she raises her large paw, baring her razor-sharp claws. She strikes down, and the cage cracks open.

She turns toward Tenomachi and Vilanea and stares at them. Tenomachi then lets out a loud howl. All the volwynn join in unison. After that, they disperse.

Jaidakka looks down upon Zeus, Ares, and Thor. The other gods and goddesses of the pantheons begin to rise to their feet. Jaiddaka then dashes off, making her way to beneath where the athranaak lies.

Back on Asherah’s island, the devices, even after drawing all the power they can, still strike at Atherak. It seems to affect him less and less. Atherak’s coils wrap around the necks of the devices and holds them high up into the air.

Eroisin then walks across the field. As he approaches, he stands face to face with Atherak.

A voice is heard as Eroisin speaks loudly ‘Forgive me, father. I’m sorry.’

Atherak places his hand upon Eroisin’s face and says ‘I already have.’

Eroisin strikes forward with his hand piercing into the chest of Atherak. As he pulls it back, an Alpha shard appears. Eroisin then crushes the Alpha shard in his hands.

Atherak’s form begins to change into that of a small black athranaak object. The coils are released from the devices.

Eroisin says ‘It’s time to go back, father. My creator. My designer.’

Ashoweah cries ‘We must finish him now!’ All of the devices begin striking forward.

Eroisin turns and says ‘No. You do not understand. Stay back. It is for us to push him back into the borderlands. Destroying him is impossible, and would bring about a worse fate.’

Xokahkar says ‘We have to take that chance. If he is to regain power, he will strike back against us. Stand aside, Eroisin.’

The devices begin to move forward toward Eroisin and the object of Atherak. Eroisin says ‘You all need to stand back.’

Eroisin raises his hands, and a force is pushed back as the Island of Asherah begins to crack and break away into the Eternal Sea. A rift opens from behind Eroisin, and he turns back towards the object of Atherak.

Eroisin says ‘Forgive me, father.’ He pushes the object of Atherak through the rift back into the borderlands.

As Eroisin turns around, he feels something pierce his chest. It is Xokahkar Tulkas who stands before him.

Xokahkar says ‘I’m sorry.’

Eroisin looks into his eyes as Xokahkar shatters the core of Eroisin whose body then falls to the ground and fades away into dust.

The Island of Asherah begins to crack and break away. The waters of the Eternal Sea begin to swallow the entire island.

The devices then look around. One says ‘We must escape, but the Veil Mist has cut us off.’

Xokahkar then calls to the others. He says ‘Join hands.’

Xokahkar and the other devices gather in a circle and join hands. Strange symbols begin to glow on their chests. Just then they are surrounded by light, and they disappear. The Island of Asherah sinks beneath the waves.

In Jotunheim, the athranaak shatters high above Moonstone.

Moonstone looks over to Epimetheus and says ‘It is complete. Now go claim your throne, Lord of the Great Houses.’ Then Moonstone burns away to ash.

In Alfheim, the athranaak that appeared above the black tree shatters. Upon the base of the blacken tree, Fiayuah and Amerriah look down upon a small fairy.

Fiayuah says ‘Alfheim shall become two kingdoms, and you who was given title of Queen of the Fairies by Aeveron, you will rule this side of Alfheim.’

Mieraki bows and says ‘And I will rule it wisely.’ She watches as Amerriah and Fiayuah burn away to ash as the Athranaak shatters.

Mithsgui watches in Muspelheim as the athranaak there shatters. He takes the fire within his hands. He throws it up into the air and he shouts ‘Let the fire burn once more!’

Muspelheim then begins to reheat, and the darkness that has spread across all the realms dissipates. The fire burns once again in Muspelheim.

All across the realms and the layers, the athranaaks shatter.

In the Gallatar, the pink athranaak, instead of shattering, glows brightly and then disappears.

As the Madaerka look around, they see that of relatives and loved ones who had passed on to the Great Collective long ago, standing once again at their side.

The devices escaped into the Great Beyond. For a path before them is there. Atherak and his Myrrdonites were pushed back into the borderlands.

Lyindrinar and Frigit walk in the borderlands. He carries Valeyta’s body. There an athranaak floats high above the Garden of Bones.

Lyindrinar then falls to his knees, as well as Frigit. He lays down with Valeyta’s body.

Lyindrinar says ‘I will be with you always.’ His eyes close, and Frigit’s eyes close as well.

A shrouded black being walks forward and kneels next to Valeyta. He says ‘Time for you to return home, natural one. For the Great Song sings once again within the Vanatorin.

But there is life and death, beginning and end. And you will be the end song of the Vanatorin when death finally comes naturally to them.’

The black being touches Valeyta on the head. Her eyes open. The black being then disappears, and Valeyta raises herself. She nudges her nose against Lyindrinar who opens his eyes.

Lyindrinar says ‘Valeyta, my love. Are you alive?’

Valeyta replies ‘Yes, but it’s time for me to go. Time for me to go home.’

A strange portal opens from behind Valeyta. She looks over at Frigit who has opened his eyes and regained himself.

She says ‘Come with me, natural one. May you be the only sential to walk within the Vanatorin. You are the only one worthy.’

Frigit says ‘What is the Vanatorin?’

Valeyta replies ‘A place of naturals. A place where you belong.’

Frigit looks into the portal and can see an image of a beautiful place. It draws him.

Frigit turns to Lyindrinar and says ‘I think I’m gonna go there.’

Lyindrinar smiles and places his hand upon Frigit’s head. He says ‘Then go. If it’s where you belong.’

Frigit steps through the portal into the Vanatorin. Valeyta looks long at Lyindrinar.

Lyindrinar cries a single tear and says ‘So I guess this is goodbye.’

Valeyta says ‘I love you, and I always will. And we will be together in midgard, and in our dreams. Goodbye, my love.’ She steps through the portal as it vanishes.

Lyindrinar says ‘I wonder what will happen to her.’

Xarsha says ‘I would not worry, Great King.’

Lyindrinar turns to see him.

Xarsha says ‘All has been set in order once again. She will remember you in times to come.’

Lyindrinar shakes his head and says ‘I am no longer a king. I am alone. I must find a new path.’

Xarsha opens a rift and says ‘And you shall, Lyindrinar. A path that, in time, may lead you back to what you love most. Go now.’

Lyindrinar steps through the rift. The myrrdonites gather inside the athranaak as Xarsha joins them.

The object of Atherak sits beneath the athranaak coil core. It begins to change shape, finally forming into a sential being form.

Moonstone says ‘The unraveling has been completed.’

Atherak replies ‘So it appears. We shall wait and observe now the aftermath of it all.’

The Myrrdonites bow to Atherak as he sits beneath the coil core.

In the Great Library, Thoth finishes as the image disappears of the events of the Unraveling.

Fihazia says to him ‘And what now? What now that the unraveling has ended?’

Thoth begins to speak ‘Things have changed. There is no longer one King of Alfheim, but a Queen and a King. The Fairy Queen shall rule one half, as King Yserah will rule the other.

The volwynn have gone back to their natural ways. They are no longer sential. The Vanatorin has been restored, and the Great Houses of this existence and these realms will rise again under the leadership of Epimetheus.’

Fihazia says ‘And of Atherak and the borderlands, and the myrrdonite?’

Thoth says ‘They will remain as they are. The devices have stepped upon a new path. And midgard was spared the judgement of the unraveling for now. Do you have all the answers you desire, Fihazia?’

Fihazia replies ‘I have a better understanding. That is what I take from this.’

Standing upon the waters of the Eternal Sea is Asherah. There she stands with Great Father.

Great Father says ‘It has ended.’

Asherah nods her head in acknowledgment and says ‘Yes it has. And now something new shall begin. And as of you, Father? What shall become of you?’

Great Father says ‘I must go to her.’ He points in the direction of the Veil Mist ‘She calls to me. Mother does.’

Asherah says ‘Will I ever see you again?’

Great Father embraces her and then looks her in the eyes. He says ‘Perhaps.’

Great Father turns and then walks into the Veil Mist. As he does, he burns away.

Asherah turns and says to herself ‘What began long ago has ended. Now something new will begin.’
