Glimpse of the Future: 3 Years After the Fall
Most major cities that were abandoned are getting overgrown by nature. There are many savage bandit groups.
When groups go into these cities to scavenge for resources they get attacked by bandits and sold to slavers.
Most of north america and the rest of the world is lawless. There are maybe around a billion people left in the world at this time.
In the Blood Rose Capital...
It is beautiful. There are about 48,000 people living in the capital city.
There are people in the forest of the outskirts of the capital that live and look like Elves. They could be Elves. They protect the forests around the city. Some humans live with them to live like they do.
In the surrounding empire with settlements and communities there is about a million people.
We have a standing Blood Rose Army of 50,000. We have five legions of 10,000 each.
To join the Blood Rose Vanguard they start at the age of 12. Then they train for 4 years. At the age of 16 they get the mark of the Blood Rose and it is a great honor.
There are 2709 who fight along with Atherak in the physical. The 9 Athernites and they each have 300 that serve under them. They serve in their positions until death and are only replaced when one dies.
The position is passed through lineage. They all wear a certain black helm which distinguishes them. They are feared by marauders, bandits, and slavers.
Slavers always know the sign that Atherak and his Athernites are coming because they see one of them first. Just a single one. They know then that doom is upon them.
Ashontrah is holding court. She is seated on a throne. There are many guards around her. Euravasiah and Asteria are also in the court.
Ashontrah speaks with a group that comes from the eastern part of the united states.
When they first come in they don't know to kneel. Everyone looks at them. When they get the gesture from others they kneel before Ashontrah.
Ashontrah says 'Usually those who face a Queen kneel.'
The leader of their group says 'Apologies. All of this is so overwhelming to us.'
Ashontrah says 'You are forgiven. You will learn our customs. Tell me how you came to be in my presence.'
An older lady says 'Since the fall 3 years ago we have lost two places that we call home. We have been on the move since dwindling in numbers.
Many taken as slaves and others killed in nomadic bandit attacks. We heard of an empire in the west where there was a chance of safety and sanctuary. A chance of renewal.'
Ashontrah says 'Many come seeking refuge in my empire but I only accept those who prove themselves by showing loyalty to the Blood Rose banner and its Queen.'
Male in their group says 'Apologies but I must ask what does this loyalty include?'
Ashontrah says 'All this will be instructed to you by one of our Land Settlers. If I deem you as a contribution to my empire.'
Male says 'And those you do not find worthy?'
Ashontrah says 'Then they shall find no home in my empire. These are the laws that bind us and keep us and make us strong. These are my laws. They are simple and easy to understand. If you cannot understand them, then I suggest you head back east.'
They all look at each other...
Leader says 'We are willing to abide the laws that you have set down. We are willing to show our loyalty through contribution to this great empire that you have established.'
Ashontrah says 'Then it is agreed.'
Riley is standing next to Ashontrah...
Ashontrah says 'My Chancellor will direct you to a Land Settler and will give you all the information you need.'
Lyindrinar is also there. He speaks about bandits to the south. Their group is 2800 strong and they are attacking Blood Rose settlements.
Lyindrinar says 'I ask my Queen if I may deal with this personally.'
Ashontrah says 'Granted. Show them no mercy. Bring their leaders to me in chains.'
