Alkelion: An Unpredictable Journey

The incarnation story for Alkelion begins... He flies high in the skies above the vast realm of Jotunheim, up past the mountains and through the clouds. Nearby his side is the chaos drakon Kyrse.

Kyrse speaks to Alkelion 'Have you seen this fire you search for yet?'

Alkelion scans the surrounding area and the tops of the mountain peaks, then he replies 'No, but I can sense that it is close.'

The fire which they search for is an eternally burning flame that sits high upon a volcanic mountain somewhere in Jotunheim.

Gathering this flame, Alkelion believes will bestow the ability to create what is known as an incarnation upon Midgard.

As Alkelion and Kyrse continue to fly off in the distance they can see smoke billowing, Alkelion's eyes go wider. He yells out to Kyrse 'That is it, there it is!'

The two drakon fly closer and circle around the top of the volcanic mountain, they approach downwards towards the lava lake that sits high upon the mountain.

As they near the molten magma, Alkelion says 'The power that dwells within this great mountain is said to be able to take the body far beyond.'

Kyrse nods his head in acknowledgment 'Yes it is said that it does. And you are willing to try this Alkelion, to go to the Midgard world and walk it as a man?'

Alkelion replies 'This is a part of my dream, long ago the Drakon were driven from Midgard by man. There are still those brothers and sisters who remain there in Midgard.

I can hear them calling out to our Mother Tia-Mat but her response to them has been to remain silent. Many drakon such as myself have decided to travel to Midgard to find the others, and find a way to bring them back.'

Kyrse says 'It has been so long in the age of man. Man has feared our kind and those left upon Midgard and who dwelled there must certainly have perished.'

Alkelion replies 'But Mother has seen within her dreams and has spoken to all of us. Find those brothers and sisters we've lost, some have already gone looking before.'

Kyrse responds 'Yes they have taken a drink of the same fires of this mountain and gained forms to walk upon Midgard in the footsteps of man.

However so many have not been heard from again, as if they are stuck in a loop. I have known many brothers and sisters who have gone and I have never seen them again.

Some may get lost entirely, memories may be forgotten, connections and links may be broken. For us drakon to take upon the form of man is a dangerous and unpredictable journey.'

Alkelion says 'Nevertheless, I will find our lost brothers and sisters. I will form this incarnation and walk upon the realm of man.'

Kyrse replies 'Be wary dear brother, the world of man is a dangerous place. Even in the guise of a human incarnation, man can be cruel, vicious. They prey upon the naturals as though they are made for nothing but to fulfill their needs. They devastate their lands, cut down their forests, and poison their waters.

Be wary of the realm where humans live. If they sense anything in you they may strike you down, I have seen it before. They turn on each other, they do not even fully understand each other's ways and therefore they wage war and devour each other.'

Alkelion says 'I shall heed your warning brother, but the urgency of finding the others is great. There is something coming, something awakening. I believe that Mother's dreams are profound and strong. I will go now.'

Alkelion turns to Kyrse, raising his wings 'I will walk upon the realm of man, tread the footsteps of humans, and I will find our lost siblings.'

Alkelion then bends down and drinks the molten magma from the lake of fire, when he is finished he raises his head. Kyrse looks at him for a moment 'Do you feel anything?'

Alkelion waits for a moment 'I feel nothing at the moment.' After a few moments more, something begins to burn within Alkelion, his eyes flash with bright energy.

Alkelion says 'I can feel it, I can feel the transformation, the approach towards Midgard!'

Kyrse then watches as his brother Alkelion turns into bright energy and floats into the skies of Jotunheim. Alkelion in his mind's eye is traveling through a tunnel, images of Midgard's past flash before him, it is overwhelming.

Then there is darkness, and then a light. The sound of humans can be heard around him, Alkelion's spiritual drakon body reforms in the skies of Jotunheim

Alkelion says 'I believe I have done it but it is hard to see, I can hear the voices of humans but do not understand. I must focus, there is something strange, the presence of an energy that is surrounding Midgard. It feels as if it is dark and unbreakable like a giant mountain of stone.'

Alkelion closes his eyes again, he can see the humans standing over him looking down. He can hear the strange tongue they speak but does not understand it.

Alkelion then flies off into the skies of Jotunheim continuing to try to focus as the strange energy that surrounds the human world grows denser.

He says 'In time I will see through the eyes of my incarnation, and there shall be nothing to prevent me from finding my lost siblings. I shall walk upon the world of man.'
